Hey beauties! I am loving the alliteration in my title by the way haha, it's the little things, as they say.
Today is new years day, and I've had a rather uneventful yet needed one. You know those days when you do nothing, except moisturise, do your nails, hair treatments, I'm having one, and loving it!
I've showered, exfoliated, moisturised, face masked, shaped my brows and am yet to do my nails.
I thought I'd blog and tell you about one of the most important things in the beauty world, the wonder that is MOISTURISING. I feel like people don't understand how important it actually is, and I mean moisturising everything
-Body
-Nails
-Hair
-Face
It's so vital and makes you feel amazing even after keeping it up for just a few days. During the winter months and low temperatures our skin isn't creating enough sebum (oil, pretty much) to keep ourselves silky smooth and hydrated.
For my body I use Palmers I have been a firm favourite of the brand since I was young and cannot see me ever changing.
Don't get me wrong I've tried a good few, garnier, johnsons, nivea etc all of which work brilliantly, but the smell of palmers I really just love. It's cocoa butter which gives a really creamy scent I love it!
Everyday I apply the regular moisturiser and then every few days when I feel like I need a colour pick me up I use their Natural Bronze moisturiser, it's a tinted moisturiser which I prefer to use 10x more than I would a fake tan. If you keep up using your regular moisturiser after applying it won't go patchy or streaky like other tinted moisturisers tend to do.
It gives a great natural colour and I always feel better and healthier when I've got it on. It has the classic palmers scent to it too, so it won't have the horrible biscuity smell like fake tan holds.
I just checked the Boots website for prices, and their both on HALF PRICE offers, the Palmers Natural Bronze is £2.67 and the orginal is around £3
It is widely used by pregnant women to reduce stretch marks and there are many people who swear by it for fading scars, it soaks in to the skin straight away which is a plus as too many times with other products I've had to pat myself with a towel before even attempting to put on clothes ha ha.
They have a huge range now too, such as bust creams and body oils I have yet to try them but I'm keen to try the body oil in the summer months. Nothing better than shimmery oily tanned legs in those beautiful summer dresses!
I am in no way trying to pursuade you to use these products, in fact I'd love to know which moisturisers you swear by!
Now for my hair, nothing beats kitchen classic such as Olive Oil. Yep, that's right the same thing you all eat in your pasta is currently soaking into my hair. Having thick curly hair, it's important for me to condition my hair to stop it breaking and turning into a frizzy hot mess.
All I do is put a tiny bowl of olive oil in the microwave for 10 seconds and then apply it to mostly the ends of my hair and leave for as long as I can, the longer the better. It's important to note however, that when rinsing it out, you must apply shampoo before even putting your hair near the shower water, if you get shower on your oily hair, you'll have greasy hair as water and oil do not mix, folks! It's super intense and makes my hair feel so great!
I'm using Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner at the minute to which is a treat! *Blog post soon
For my face, it varies, I prefer a good face oil or balm to really make my skin feel hydrated, I've used Decleor, Liz Earle and even just plain almond oil in the past.
And nails, well a good cuticle oil isn't hard to come by, I use OPI avoplex which I have recieved so many of in the sets on QVC. It's very handy to carry around in your handbag.
Well I've been rambling , so sorry guys! I hope you all feel great and silky smooth after you moisturising sessions!
Maddy xoxo
